The gift of my owl

My sweet sweet owl. It has been a good month since I have seen or heard her. She definitely has not been in our yard.

It has rained here all day and I really wanted to take a picture of the raindrops on my Camellia flowers. I went outside and it was barely sprinkling and I got two pictures before I heard her hoot. I immediately and almost in a trance just walked to the backyard, something I NEVER do. The Camellia is right out the front door and I just walked all the way through the yard and fence to the back yard and there she was. She gave me the biggest HOOT. What a blessing. I could not be more thankful.

  1. I love the sound of the rain and her hoots in combination. So glad you included a video.
And the rain drops on the flowers, I don’t know, there’s something soothing about that. What a treat it must’ve been to have rain all day?

It rains on Thanksgiving day a lot here but we had an unusually sunny day for a change this year.

    • I was so happy to stand under her again. My daughter said it was like she put her full body into that hoot. It was very soothing being out there. I loved the rain drops too. I squat down on the ground and looked at them and just loved them. I’m so glad you did too. It is usually sunny here on this day. This one family that has like 20 people always walk after they eat in the neighborhood and they all walked still but in the rain. It was the coolest thing ever. They were tossing the football as they walked in the pouring rain. I. Hope you had a good day

  2. Loved the video. Saw her glowing eyes. I’m glad she is back.

The crazy magpies that I see every day while on my balcony, are still mating and having babies! In Novemer in Canada! I had to research it, because I didn’t know birds would mate that late in the year here. But, yes they do. Lol I figured sex was going on when I saw one on top of the other twice in one day!
