PERSPECTIVE

THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN AFTER BEING CARRIED UP ALL OF THESE STAIRS AS I CANNOT CLIMB STAIRS.

THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN WHILE IN MY SCOOTER

THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN WHILE SITTING IN THIS CAR

PICTURES I TOOK WHILE SQUATTING ON THE GROUND

PHOTOGRAPHY AND MINDFULNESS ARE A BEAUTIFUL THING. WHEN YOU SEE HOW EACH PICTURE WAS TAKEN I HOPE IT CAN PUT INTO PERSPECTIVE THE FEEL, THE ANGLE, THE MOOD, THE MODE, THE REALITY. I AM NOT OUT ON A WALK WITH A TRIPOD SET UP. I HAVE A MUSCLE DISEASE AND LYME DISEASE AND PTSD. I CHOOSE TO PHOTOGRAPH MOMENTS THAT TAKE ME AWAY FROM ALL OF THOSE DISEASES. I PHOTOGRAPH TO KEEP LIFE IN PERSPECTIVE.

IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO KEEP LIFE IN PERSPECTIVE. SO SEE THINGS FROM DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES. A DIFFERENT ANGLE CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING. SOMEONE TO CARRY YOU UP THE STAIRS CAN GIVE YOU A DIFFERENT VIEW. SQUATTING DOWN TO LOOK AT A FLOWER WITH THE SUN AND THE BLUE SKY CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.

WE EACH HAVE OUR CHALLENGES.

I JUST WANTED TO SHOW THAT SOMETIMES WHAT ONE ASSUMES OF ANOTHER IS WRONG. NO ONE MAY KNOW HOW I GOT THAT PICTURE. THAT I ENDED UP STUCK IN MY WHEELCHAIR FOR AN HOUR WHEN I TOOK THAT PICTURE OF THE BIRD ON THE BIRDBATH BECAUSE THE GROUND WAS TOO SOFT. BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

PHOTOGRAPHY HAS GIVEN ME A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE. I SEE THINGS DIFFERENTLY. I VIEW THINGS DIFFERENTLY. IT’S A GOOD THING. I HOPE I CAN INSPIRE OTHERS TO GO OUT AND SHIFT THEIR PERSPECTIVE.

    • Heck yeah you may. I have one of him on some reeds and on a bird house. Something about him makes me very happy. He sat and watched the sunset with me. You can just download it from my site I think and print it right?

    • My comments won’t load onto your page for some reason but there were a few things I have wanted to comment on but you may have disabled comments or my wordpress isn’t working right again. It was in reference to POTS which my daughter was diagnosed with 4 years ago and also sleep med for PTSD that I have just learned about and am not so happy that no one of my gazillion docs have suggested it to me for the night/gore I have had since early childhood.

      • It looks like my comments are enabled… but who knows… I will look again later and see if it looks okay. Prazosin only works for nightmares related to trauma. It is an off label use for an alpha blocker for high blood pressure. A VA doc on the west coast of the USA discovered that beta blockers increased nightmares in soldiers with PTSD, so he wondered if alpha blocker would do the opposite. And it worked. So it got researched. Our night/gores (I like that) have another cause than regular nightmares, so it doesn’t work on non trauma nightmares. Interesting, isn’t it…
I have been reading about POTS and MCAD, which I relate to. It would be interesting to know what your/her experience is.

      • Yes, my nightmares are PTSD trauma related nightmares that I have had since childhood. Infact I just woke up after only a few hours sleep to one.
They are all gore and I hate it and always have. When I first got married I terrified my husband by screaming in the middle of the night. I don’t scream anymore but I sure do in my dreams. It gets old night after night.
When I saw you’d been prescribed it I thought well what on earth, why had they not prescribed it for me knowing this is why I had nightmares and knowing that it is my biggest issue. I need sleep and because I don’t get it then my muscles hurt worse from the muscle disease. Just an awful cycle.
Anyway I was very appreciative you had written about it.
It said comments could not pull up and then there was an error when I tried to send one. But I have issues like this alot. It may be from my wordpress end.
She was diagnosed with POTS and Dysautonomia after the tilt table test at the mayo clinic. She also had inner ear testing balance testing. She has heat intolerance, her heart rate goes up 15 points sitting up and then 15 more or even more than that standing. Yesterday it was 140 sitting and sometimes it will go up to 180. She has to drink almost a gallon of fluids a day. She gets cold as ice feet and hands. Modeled (it won’ let me spell it right) skin when standing. ( splotchy). Gets rashes and reactions from any scents fabric softener cologne nail polish etc. they thought i had MCAD. I was and she was just labeled with multiple chemical sensitivities and her pots. They thought related to the lyme disease both of us have. Lots of dizziness for her. Low blood pressure. So many symptoms. I am terribly sorry you are having symptoms that they think is this. I’m interested where and how they will test you. They first diagnosed her just based on lying, sitting, standing heart rate and blood pressure but finalized that with the tilt table test.

      • I fainted at work awhile back and got walked across the hall to the clinic. They checked my BP lying down and standing and the rest has been me researchilesooking for test locations and a doctor that can at least look at the tests with in the same state. I am unfortunately 1,322 miles from the nearest Mayo Clinic… the Cardiologist wants a QSART test. I expected the tilt test, so I had to do more research.

      • HMMM. They did that test on my daughter DURING the tilt table test. It was part of the test. Vanderbilt and cleveland clinic also do the tests. She was originally diagnosed just based on lying sitting standing orthostatics and a cardiologist monitored the condition with meds but after she did not get better and went to the mayo clinic they did their own tests which were tilt table and the qsart and same result. The tilt table test is awful. If they can diagnose you without it then great!
The doctor we use now is internal medicine and she knew just based on vitals. There are such varying degrees of it though fainting being really bad.
I’m so so sorry you are going through this. I hope you get some answers. You probably already read to drink a ton of fluids and up your salt intake to keep your BP up. But if your heart rate is really high they may put you on a betablocker.

  1. beautiful photos and beautiful post. That first picture takes me back to the watchtower I climbed in Wisconsin last summer. I thought my little heart was going to give out. Haha the hike up to the watch tower was pretty steep, too. So by the time we got to the tower I was just beyond exhausted. But, I am not a quitter. 😜
