Poetry: Her

I would forgive her

Let go of the anger

That causes my heart

To wither

I’d hold onto the good

And just

Remember

But her lack of remorse

Absence of apology

Lets the pain linger

In my growth

She is a constant

Hinder

I cannot forgive her

This

Word

She doesn’t

Deserve

As I’ve felt

Continuously

Unheard

The power of her

In delusions

Of selfish grandeur

Cut the wings

Of the bird

I cannot fly forward

Walking slowly backward

Hiding

In the herd

Waiting for the

Obscure

Knowing all is lost

In the absence

Of hope that should

Stir

It could have all been

Restored

In one line from

Her

Instead

My mind shackled

To a woman

I now abhor

Because she could not love

More

Than her pride

Adored.
