Poetry

You are not MY father

Man of the cloth

Wearing your cross

I WILL not go through a MAN

To get to God.

You are not MY father

Though we took communion

As if that time was ours

Together

And I was somehow

Special.

You are not MY father

Though you quoted the bible

And sang in the choir

Your outward acts

Of condemnation

Secretly to rise in that

Congregation

You are not MY father

I honor you NOT

As you made me a bastard

For your religion

Denounced your marriage

Bowing down to your precious

Parishioners

You are not MY father

You cannot preach of the Lord

Yet do the things

He

Abhors

You coward

Hypocrisy

To the core

You were my father

You are not

Anymore

I’ll not call you Father

Nor any other man

I’ll not confess

Through a lens

I will STAND

With MY cross

Not for YOU

But in

HIM
