Wheelchair stroll today

After a night of nightmares and waking up on pain…so much…physical illness and PTSD together…just so wrong…SO I did what I do and I got up and got in my wheelchair and went out to take photos around the neighborhood. I hope you enjoy them! It will never get old that I go around the same block and see new discoveries every time. The distraction to something good for my mind is really really good for me. The hawk was so patient. I asked him if he could hang out a LITTLE longer so I could try and find good lighting while sitting in my wheelchair and try and balance my camera. And he did. I moved all around him and then he would adjust himself in a different position. The blue jay was just above him not happy he was there. It was odd lighting because the sun was behind me but it was about to rain so overcast. I’m always thrilled when at least some of my photos come out! I never look until I get home and download them.

Their was so much orange and red today, everywhere!

    • I’m soooo frustrated with my pain level! And I tried a muscle relaxant which only added to my seizure issue which I HAD under control and it didnt even help the pain. So frustrated. So i had a little break from the life of me, going out hoping something would appear and there was the hawk on a dead tree and i was like oh thank you thank you hawk!

      • Have you tried Soma for your muscles. I used it for years, it worked the best for me, then the Florida legislature made it impossible for pain clinics to dispense, while your primary care doctor can do. But hey are strong and really help. Sorry you are having more seizures. It must be really hard to cope with all you have going on. You have my best wishes. Hugs

      • I did. I tried soma first. Then skelaxin. Then flexoril is what I just took that was just not doing well for me at all. They also tried mobic which is a prescription anti in flammatory. Nothing seems to help with the cramping and pain which is why i hope the guy doing the research study on me hurries the heck up and finds something because i’m just wasting away here and feeling the pain that goes with it.
I was totally ok in my brain until i took the flexoril and yesterday i had that seizure feeling all day long and slept a lot but woke up today feeling confused.
I now have to get invisalign which will hopefully help my jaw and teeth since they hit when i had the original seizures and i damaged a few. The invisalign will help open things up so that my face that is atrophying wont allow my teeth to keep hitting the inside of my cheeks. Yikes that was a long reply. But thank you for caring

      • Flexeril is a very weak muscle relaxer that doesn’t work well for people like us. I threw mobic away, it was silly it did not work at all. Yes you don’t want to take anything that causes more seizures. Hey I don’t know if it will help but I was on Baclofen before I got my new hip and it was much better than flexeril. Just a thought. I am sorry for what you are going through , it must be murder getting a medication that won’t make the other things worse. I am glad you have good doctors. Hugs

      • Thank you. I had to trim up the beard to make the center even with the old look. My hair is not silver but my beard is. Ron wants me to color my beard but I am resisting that. Hugs

      • Ron’s big beef is he is too young at 63 to have a grey bearded spouse. Yet he forgets his goatee is also pure white as is most of his hair. I am far too kind to point that out. Hugs

      • LOL that is soo funny! Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black or gray instead?!!
I started getting gray hair in my 30’s. Now I am 50% gray but if I mouse it now that it is so short it looks darker than it really is.

      • I had a grandfather that was very protective of me in my childhood and I really looked up to him. His hair went pure snow white when he was in his 60’s. I thought it was so cool looking. Hugs

      • Oh you would look grand with a blue streak. Hey the kids today are doing read and blue patches, some of them pull it off rather well. I think you could. Streak the front patch red, and then the sides blueish. You have a grand face, and could wear your hair in any manner and still make it look good. Hugs

      • Thank you!!! My hair is now shorter than yours! But it is sso fun. I did want to do something punky even though i’m nearing 50….eh who cares. But then the stylist said with my reactions to so many things it would be one hell of a risk so we had to toss that Idea. I could color it with coolaide. Or maybe i will just stay me. Hard to know. Thanks for the compliment

    • I haven’t met this one before. Was at the end of our neighborhood down the road. The hawks around our house have parents helping them learn to hunt but this hawk was one I haven’t seen before. He wasn’t hunting but kept and ear out for the hawk calling in the distance. I hope I get to see him again.

      • No it was a different one around the block. A red shouldered hawk. The one that lives in my trees is a coopers hawk and he is still being helped out by his family to hunt. He has been floundering around for a week now trying to get his landings right and pick up food on the ground. The hawk from today was one I haven’t seen before

    • I’ve been reading your posts and I feel very connected to what you are going through. I haven’t commented much on many posts. My finger joints hurt too badly. But I have read them. A bunch last night. It has been a SUCK month of PTSD. It’s like a wave came to drown us in PTSD. Some days are just so hard. I’m really sorry you are going through this. Thanks for checking in
